The master data (products, operator, etc.) is updated in the back office and is saved in a SQL-database (e.g. Oracle, IBM DB/2). The KORONA Replication Service provides POS data in XML-format. This is available to the POS per download.

The transaction data produced in POS is uploaded and stored in the database of the server by KORONA Spool Service. The comparison can be carried out permanently, in intervals through time controls or through manual triggers. Master data and configuration data as well as transaction data is kept in XML-format in the POS redundantly to the server. By this it is not necessary to have any permanent connections between head office and POS.

As a prevention of hardware failures some relevant system information like CPU-temperature, condition of the hard disk or arisen errors is transmitted to the responsible maintenance personnel during the update of sales data. That means that it is possible to take preventative measures to avoid failures. All special fixed POS configurations are additionally saved in the server, so that all individual configurations are immediately available in case of total failures of a POS terminal. As a rule you can go on collecting up during the remote maintenance procedure. KORONA supports top system safety. In case of network problems at one or more cash points, the data is saved in the POS until the troubles are cleared.
